Or at least this is what the developers of (NERD Energy Drink) claim. NERD was formulated by Vincio Montes who is a medical student at Virginia College of Osteopathis Medicine (VCOM) and the drink is targeting college students to increase memory retention & mental focus.

The developers of the Nerd Energy Drink claim that their beverage:

• Contains 50% more energy ingredients than the leading competitors
• Is the best tasting on the market
• Contains special ingredients to increase energy brain focus and memory retention. These ingredients include Vinpocetine, Huperzine A, DMAE, Chinease Ginko Biloba, Taurine, Glucuronolactone, and plenty of caffeine – a full list of ingredients is available on the product page.

Vincio Montes talked about the process of coming up with NERD, “I began to search for ingredients that would increase energy, focus and memory retention. After meeting with professors and reading many medical journals, we were able to narrow it down to the highest quality of ingredients. Some of the ingredients came from China and even India. A couple of my classmates began asking me what I was drinking, and of course I told them. They wanted to try it so I made extra bottles for them. Eventually, they kept asking me for more and told me that I should start selling it. I didn’t think much of it because I thought the student market wasn’t big enough, then one of them started taking it before working out and told me that it helped him focus more at the gym resulting in a better workout. Another friend told me that she gave it to her dad who is a truck driver and he said that he felt more awake and focused on the road. I then took their advice and contacted a company and started producing it”.
